I had an African Grey Parrot. Pepperbird. Amazing companion and a talker! I thought I would have to put her in my will, as they are supposed to live to 85 years or so. I loved her so.
Not so. Oh man. I never saw it coming. Birds hide their illness. Here is to Pep-Pep
As the day moon succumbed to the night, the darkness, and the clouds made way for the stars, but the fireflies lit the way. The warm, humid day air lay still... it gave way for cricket's chirps; the busy day has become quiet, and peaceful with the exception of the night workers.... Even Mother Nature works at night, keeping her nocturnal creatures from losing their way; it's not always dark.... :)
What I don't understand is why things are made so difficult in this world.... My mother tried to get tickets for this upcoming Stephen King event, and all because it was made so difficult to get them, she was only able to get one--and someone will still be coming with me; all because she did not have a Google account, and, well, someone is now selling them on ebay for 100.00 or more. Now how is that right, this should be criminal.... And the people at the store could not help her. She had two in her cart, and when she went to open a Google account, they disappeared. I guess all the articles about teaching critical thinking was wrong, but then again, this is for financial gain; thank goodness for a higher order of thinking. Now I have to decide if I want to drive 7 hours from Maryland, to sit for an hour with 900 people whom I never met--which bothers me something fierce, baseball games are hard enough--and possibly not get a signed copy because the description on this event was so vague, until the day of the sale. Or maybe I did not do enough research. Sorry I thought this was a vent board....=D
Go! From everything I've heard about these events, it'll be worth the drive. And who knows - maybe you'll make some friends there. Somebody from the board might also be going, you could ask around and maybe meet them there...I guarantee that would be worth your time!!!
I went to the zoo yesterday with my oldest son. We had a great time.
BUT, I literally talked to every single animal and I waved at the meercats. WAVED.
When I waved, I actually caught myself and looked at him and said, "Did I really just wave at the meercats?" He just smiled and went with it.
I also forgot to mention I made kissy lip noises at every single animal too. Like the sloth was going to jump up and run to me. Riiiight.
Sloth: "Hey, isn't that Dana Jean making kissy lips at me? I better run right over there. Until now, I had no reason to move fast."
