Am I the only one who can't figure out what a porcupine man is? Is it a place?

    News of the Weird much??
The journalist was going for laughs...but I fail to see the humor in beating one's spouse.

I didn't get it the first time either, but yes--Wikipedia reference-linkPorcupine, South Dakota. It also was where American Indian activist, Russell Means, lived at the time of his death.

A community in the Rapid City area. The headline was written that way on purpose - clever way to get a reader's attention - but in the end it's sad.
I'd have a talk with that person if I were their boss. Readership at the expense of someone's misfortune is tasteless and bounces a professional right into the land of Yellow Journalism.

Ya got that right. Almost as bad as the old Groucho Marx joke - "Answer yes or no - have you stopped beating your wife?" A guy in Alberta when I lived there told me as many men as women are beaten by their spouses but they are too embarrassed to report it (which I highly doubt)

Perry White, editor of The Daily Planet and Clark Kent's, Lois Lane's, and the bestest daggum cub reporter of 'em all, Jimmy Olson's, their big boss, twas his favorite expression when he was about to blow a gasket..
