It was required reading when I was in school and I found it fascinating. Kind of a rite of passage, really. For the first time, it got me thinking about different political systems and the effect they have on the daily lives of their citizens. I thought Orwell's use of metaphors was really cool-- Snowball was really Lenin, Napoleon was Stalin, etc... Animal Farm really changed me. I was less naive after reading it and more questioning of government-- any government.
your lucky that your school required it for you to read it
...yeah, that was back in the day when we might actually have learned something-instead of it being dumbed down so as not to offend...
sorry didn't mean to put dislike i have read the book and it was really good
This book was also required reading in our school, along with The Pearl and Miguel Street. I thought they were all amazing.
It's an excellent book, should be required reading for anyone. This is truly one of those books that can change your view.
Such a wonderful book.
All animals are equal. Some animals are more equal then others.
