    Default When watching.

    When i was watching this movie i started having a hatred towards the wife as the movie progressed. Did anyone else have this happen?

    Did you read the book? It explains her character in more depth, of course. A movie can never capture the words .
    And yes, I did not care for the actress. Hard to watch her play that role.

    ...NN is right...the nuance of character from book to screen was lost...

    ...whiny and bit*hy....nowhere near as sympathetic as the novel-which made her "loss" in the book, that much more horrible...

    The one I felt the worst for was Church!! I am an over-the-top animal lover. I was still living at my mom's when I first saw this movie & was so scared sh*tless I had to crawl in bed with my mommy!!! I own it on DVD but have never been able to watch it again!!!

    Caring for a dying relative, losing a pet, a child, a spouse
    -not even a ray of sunshine in this one!! Even lacks the dark humor I so enjoy! I need to re-read the book-but I think watching the movie again may be out of the question!! There is not enough boxed wine or valium!

    I only read it two times. A grim book as Gnt said. But the power of the words in that book - stays with you.

    SK has that way - you have to read on. What ever he writes. I learn something. Tis true.
