I like 'em both. Seems like a lot of first person narrators in stories are writers though. Probably to substantiate why the prose is so good?

I really like when there is a mix of both first and third, like in Dan Simmon's Carrion Comfort.

Third, hands down. I've tried reading first person and I just can't. I don't know what it is about first person. It just irks me.

It's a difficult question. I think I love both, it just depends on a book... Even when I write something myself, sometimes I use the third person, and sometimes - the first person... I guess that also dependson my mood

Well that was the most difficult decision I've made all week. Very good question!

I prefer 3rd - 1st works well as a change, but I don't think I could read it constantly. Stephen does both very well, 11/22/63 was just a wonderful example of 1st person at its best.

You know, I actualy thought this was about video games. I guess GNTLGNT isn't the only idiot around here.

I agree with you. As a writer, it depends on what the story wants. As a reader, depends on the book, as you said.

A bit of both. Just depends on the book.
