My favorite Gaiman was The Graveyard Book because I went to his Mousecircus web site and he read the whole thing there. It was great to listen to him read, to watch him read. It was at some event and so you have crowd reactions (laughs, groans) and Neil's reaction to the audience. It really is this symbiotic relationship as Neil and the crowd get something from each other.

I love when an author reads their own books for audios/videos as you get the true feel of how they wanted it to sound. The emphasis on certain words, the tone, the rise and fall of their cadence. It's music. And it's beautiful.

I loved Gaiman's The Graveyard Book. I knew was for kids but I thoroughly enjoyed meeting the inhabitants.

And the Graveyard Book is for kids and written that way.

Try Neverwhere and come back to me.
I know that The Graveyard Book is written for kids; THAT'S one reason i wanted to read it. I absolutely LOVE kid's lit. I was very much looking forward to it but in the end disappointed. I'll have to put Neverwhere on my list, as you are not the first person to recommend it to me, Shasta.

Looks like the Texas School Book Depository. I seem that someone interviewed him there. Maybe USA Today.

I think if you would have watched Neil read it, your thoughts would have been different. It was wonderful with his accent and facial expressions. Absolutely charming.

You should read Anasai Boys next. It's related. I actually think it came first, though I could be wrong about that.

Going to start NOS4A2 tonight. No NBA playoff games tonight so I'm ready to get a good start on it.
