Currently reading Equal Rights, a Discworld book by Terry Pratchett.

PS... Boy's Life is my favorite McCammon book so far.

Will this be your first time traveling to the Dark Tower? If so, please let us know what you think of it (as you read it) and PLEASE don't go into any of the Dark Tower threads here on the Board as you might see something that will spoil the tale for you. And, as the first book seems to be the hardest one to get thru for alot of people, don't give up till you read the second book, the rest of the books in the series read much easier than the first ond. Enjoy your trip with Roland and the rest of the ka-tet!!!

I recently read The Sisters Brothers by P deWitt. The story seems to have some themes similar to The Gunslinger, The Wind Through the Keyhole, and The Dome. I won't spoil why I think so. It's not too short, not too long, and has a dark comedic undertone throughout the whole book. It was one of those rare books that just begs to be read in a single sitting, and that I pretty much did. I dreaded the moment when I had finished, because I desperately wanted more.

I'm reading IT...it's been a while for me, and I am zipping right along. Really surprised all over again at some of the details I'd forgotten, just how rich the story is.

I'm re-reading Everything's Eventual. It's been a while since I've read all of these stories, I forgot how great they were! Autopsy Room Four made me cringe and bust a gut laughing all at the same time!

Over the weekend I finished "Secret Ceremonies" by Deborah Laake. Thanks for the recommendation on this one, Dana Jean. I read her bio on the wikipedia pg. and agree with your assessment of both her and the book. I have no idea, of course, but tend to think she might have had a lot of emotional problems even without the Mormon upbringing. I'm not sure it's fair to blame her relationship difficulties on the religion, although it certainly was a contributing factor. At any rate, I found the book quite enlightening. I also checked our library for "The Twenty Seventh Wife". They do have a copy, but for some reason, it is in the section for rare books, and cannot be taken out of the library, although I can read it there, on premise. Which probably isn't going to happen, so I'll see where else I might be able to come up with a copy. In the meantime, I'm going to return "Secret Ceremonies" today, and will see what I come home with! I'm off to visit my sister in AZ later this week, and will take the Kindle, and hope to start on "Cutting for Stone" which I downloaded a while back. Until later...
