Ok, I'm getting concerned about Randall Flagg. He's usually all over this thread.

I just got the Dark Tower from the library. I have read the others and was waiting for this one !!!

The guy behind me in line saw the book - and you should have seen his eyes light up! "ooo he said, it has been years since I have read the series" Then we talked a bit in line, I just know he is going to start the journey again.

The librarian sniffed and said "I'm not a fan" errr

I was so tempted to look at her crazy and tell her that I was his number one fan.

Chances are she's one of "those" who hasn't even read any of his work and dismisses it because it's not (in her opinion) "literary." Her loss.

Been working my way through a list of books that won both the hugo and nebulla awards for the same year. I'm up to Rendezvous with Rama.

I actually had a similar experience, Nadine. I was paying out at the local thrift shop. Of course I had a stack of books I wanted to buy - Stephen King, Dean Koontz. The cashier said "Oh, I love Dean Koontz. He is the man!" and I replies "Yeah... King is probably my favorite author." To that she made a face like she had just sucked a lemon and said "Ugh, no. He just...no."

Pissed me off. She'd probably just seen a couple of the movies or something.

Man, I'd have had to laugh in her face. Its quite okay to not like Stephen King, but don't tell me Koontz is the man in the same breath.

Just started a new book - Time Masters:Book One- The Call by Geralyn Beauchamp. This author is unknown to me, but must say this looks like a potential winner. Splitting of time, breaking history, and a love story. A page tuner for sure.

I'm reading Night Stone by Rick Hautala. Real old school horror, in a good way. Too bad Hautala's novels are so hard to find in my local libraries/book stores.
