I am happy today because I inadvertently circumcised two of my toes for free, because I'm pretty certain my insurance doesn't cover acts of God and idiocy.
I've never had it with tomatoes either but have seen recipes that do put them in. I'm not usually one to be afraid to experiment with recipes but know I like beef stew without them so that's one that if it ain't broke, don't fix it for me. Kind of like clam chowder--the idea of putting tomatoes in it is just blasphemous!
The nice thing about any kind of soup or stew is the malleability of the recipe.
