Thanks Dana Jean, no I didn't make my own drum, but am learning how to re-skin them this summer. It involved lots of soaking of Skin, stretching, bit of a knack with a mallett and will save me buying a new one should the original skin eventually split. And save me some money! :-)

Drumming circle!!! I love drumming circles! I have several drums, including a nice big conga. I think we need to have another drumming circle out here...

I've been making blankets lately - I've become obsessed.
Sister taught me to crochet; she does it when she's stressed.
I had never wanted to crochet; I'd rather read.
Sisters all insisted that I learn, so I agreed.

It's been nearly 3 months now and I'm in overdrive.
Started up a new one; this is blanket number 5.
First one that I made was for my darlin' Mr. S.
(Knots were very loose but - overall - 'twas a success.

He calls it his summer blanket.) Now I've got it right.
Since then I have started making all my knotting tight.
Good thing it's my knees and not my hands that have arthritis
Or this could get just as bad as Dr. Seussilitis.

I am so excited! I learn how to do a hot dog roll pillow case with french seams! It is so damn cute! I'm going to go to youtube now and learn how to add a scalloped crochet edge around the opening like my grandma used to do.

I've also been making my own alcohol dyed tiles. I made 4 into coasters and gave to my son for Valentine's day. Now I'm making 5 bazillion so I can hire a tile guy to come in and put them in my kitchen as a backsplash. They are amazing.

Check out Pinterest for some great examples of the dyed tiles.

I'm putting this in here because I have a feeling she would not post it herself. Neil Gaiman just wrote 12 stories, one for each month, for Blackberry. He then invited people to submit illustrations for them. This is atomicinchworm's submission for the July tale. Yes, she is my niece, but I would think this awesome even if that were not the case.

That is awesome! She did an awesome job, love the creativity of that.
