Location, the Stanley Hotel near closing for the season, seemed to help springboard other thoughts together into the Shining. Did location play a strong inspirational part in the new book?

Expanding on my original question....I'm blonde, bear with me...

Because I've always wondered, do you place the tie-ins in your books purposefully as a hook or do they just happen 'organically' as the story grows?

Tony is not portrayed through using Danny's finger in King's version, that is Kubrick's version of The Shining you're referring to.
Of course, I did. Lame attempt at being a smart ass.

If I could ask a second question it would go something like this:

From youth until now I have read many non fiction and fiction books that involve ESP/Second Sight/Spirituality/etc; and my thoughts on it evolve and change with what I read and experience. What are some of the more captivating thoughts, concepts, or experiences Mr King has had which may have influenced this work and others?

Why did the idea come up again? Was it a dream? Something you saw or something someone said that made you think of it? Or just a nagging thought way back in your head that has just finally pushed its way to the front after all these years?

I thought meeting a grown up Jack in Talisman was wonderful and I loved how he evolved. I would like to know how much, if any, memory Danny retains of his experience at the Overlook and how, either consciously or otherwise, it has shaped him as an adult. Thanks.

I apologize for attempting humor on a serious site, started by Ms. Mod.

All of these questions are great.

    I wonder what's up? I know, I get zippylip.

Dear God, how long have you people been here? And you still don't know how to bribe your Admins? Sheesh, that's Posting 101 stuff.

Start with happy-face smilies. Add as many as necessary. Move up incrementally to cute pictures of puppies and kitties (I hear that at least one Admin here has a soft spot for bears....)

If all else fails, break out the big guns--send chocolate!

She knows so much. And is so professional not to tell. but likes us. Maybe she kicks her sheets at night and giggles.

    I hope so.
