As a child I started to read with comics. My brother and I, we sometimes got a book when we were in hospital
(did not happen so often so do not worry) or when we would go on trips with our classes from school (would happen more often).
Just Micky Mouse or Donald Duck.

What is a good book to stard with mangas?

Call 'em what you want - anime, graphic novels, manga - I personally consider them comic books. Overpriced Comic Books! That's my opinion. My daughter loves manga. Her boyfriend loves graphic novels and anime. They have been trying to convert me for years. No luck.

You're reading the wrong ones, some are like novels.

Read 300, Sin City, the Avengers, and recently I read Planet Hulk. It was really very good and I would love to read world war Hulk to conclude it all. I enjoyed it and spent about 5 hours on my only day off off per week (rare) to read this and enjoy it.

Only ever read two graphic novels - Maus & Maus II, by Art Spiegelman.
Broke my heart, but utterly amazing.

...I liked the movie adaptation of Preacher, will have to see about getting the series...all the DT and Stand releases I thought were decent/good/excellent and American Vampire has turned out to be quite captivating...
