Children of the Corn was the first Stephen King story I read.

I used to pull books off my parent's shelf to read when the kids' books got dull. I saw the title and thought it was some faerie tale.

Boy was I wrong!

I was 12 years old (!) when I read the short story and it forever latched me onto Stephen King and horror in general. Of course I viewed the story from the viewpoint of a child when I read it. My sister was a bright child and a year older than me. She read the story too. And I want to say that neither of us ever considered killing an adult.
