    Hi,

Firetallion posted this on the old board and I believe it's one of the truest things I've ever heard, so I think it bears repetition -

'The greatest thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother'.

    Long days and pleasant nights

    Random Lovecraft quotes:

In London there is a man who screams when the church bells ring.

    H.P. Lovecraft

    "The Descendant"

Men of broader intellect know that there is no sharp distinction betwixt the real and the unreal...

    H.P. Lovecraft

    "The Tomb"

Ocean is more ancient than the mountains, and freighted with the memories and the dreams of Time.

    H.P. Lovecraft

    "The White Ship"

"That is not dead which can eternal lie / And with strange aeons even death may die."

    H.P. Lovecraft

Quoting the Necronomicon, in "The Nameless City"

Unhappy is he to whom the memories of childhood bring only fear and sadness.

    H.P. Lovecraft

    "The Outsider"

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.

    H.P. Lovecraft

    "The Call of Cthulhu"

We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far.

    H.P. Lovecraft

    "The Call of Cthulhu"

The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the deadly light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

    H.P. Lovecraft

    "The Call of Cthulhu"

My favorites are those from Call of Cthulhu. God, the man was a genius!
