Didn't realize it had King's signature (it's in gold, bottom right) on the outside front cover of the hardcover book. Did he do this for some of his other hardcover novels? I had bought this in paperback a long time ago when I was in my teens. (Many I bought in paperback back then. Easy to carry and didn't have a lot of money back then) Thought I would get the first-edition hardcover since it was the first one I read by him.
He did the gold 'siggy' thing for Pet Semetary and Skeleton Crew. The Tommyknockers has the imprint of his 'siggy', but not in gold. I don't think there are any others that have the 'siggy', but alot of them (Dead Zone, Firestarter, Cujo, Needful Things, etc.) do have his initials stamped in gold or just stamped on them.

Thanks for this. I thought it was really cool to see when I was exploring my first edition of the classic. Love discovering new stuff about him. How cool is that for him to do! I know all the fans who have known this already is likely rolling their eyes. However, I couldn't help to feel a bit giddy about it when I saw it. I have his real signature on Dr. Sleep and now I got another "one" on a favorite classic book by him is hidden beneath the creaky, worn book cover.

The Stand: The Complete & Uncut Edition has his siggie in red on the cover.

I love SK(obviously), John Mellencamp & T Bone Burnett. So all together, awesome!

    I wholeheartedly agree!
Have you heard the T Bone Burnett produced CD "Raising Sand", featuring Robert Plant & Alison Krauss?
Here's a taste, hope you enjoy it.
