Recently the Nasa (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) detected water in a crater on Moon. I think it is a great advance for the humanity, because if the water is ancient, the scientists can to study the history of our Universe, and also will be possible the criation of a lunar base, where astronauts will may live and send aircraft with more facilitie for other planets.
Gleefully, I just finished reading "On Writing" for the second time. I had an insatiable need to get me some more Stephen. I reluctantly picked up my unread copy of The Stand. Sneekily, I headed off to the shed to avoid my wife. I began reading. There it was: BIGGER THAN LIFE! HE wrote it! I read it with my own eyes! HE, the great Prolific One wrote on the first page of Chapter Two: "He waved smilingly at the parking lot." YUUUUUUCK! AHHHHHHH! HE wrote it! I read it!

Well, really, it's no big deal. I'll buy more anyway. And "On Writing" is still the best book on writing, bar none, and I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do.

regards
Anybody already read Under the Dome? I haven't yet, but how is it?

There is this article, though, that brinbgs King's politics to the fore:

http://www.thestar.com/entertainment...under-the-dome

It talks about "moral truths' in King's works. I tend to think King explores more philosophical truths than moral in his works--then again his works have explored feminist issues, the desctructive consequences of high shcool bullying, etc., so I suppose yes, some of his works are quite moral.

Insomnia takes on the abortion issue, though it basically doesn't do much more than make the pro-lifers the bad guys. A better exploration of the issue would be to show the possible negative consequences of a world where the right to choose an abortion is outlawed by the state.

One question raised here is the issue of King's faith. He says he hates many of the evils done in the name of religion, but is not against faith in a higher power. I wonder what he would think of Sam Harris, an atheist philosopher who calls for the end of faith. Harris beleives that reason, NOT faith in the unprovable existence of a God or Gods, should govern human behavior.

I tend to agree with King here, actually. I beleive that an actual force for Good may actually be guiding the human condition toward better morals. We've a long way to go yet. But we've ethically come a long way. if we substitue reason, or something else, for god, then we'll end up worshiping that, and rationalizing immoral acts in the name of reason. it is actually tribalism, rather than religion per se, that causes immoral acts. If we erradicate, humans will simply find other ways to do the same things.

This book was begun at the greatest time of panic and despair in modern Hollywood history-late January of '82. Future film scholars may well term it " Heaven's Gate era. "

I don't know. But, I was born in January of '82. Can't wait to see how William Golodman helps carve out my spaghetti Westerns and future writing.

Hi all, and Hello Mr King,

Well, I say hello just in case...

I am French; I am 33 years old in few weeks. And I have read my first Stephen King book a long time ago. It was for my 11 years old.
And it was Christine.

There were these horror books in this supermarket; I did not really care about them before. My mind was more focused on Stranges, Nova, Conan and French comics like Rahan.
But this day, I was completely fascinated by these books.
There was so many strange covers, so many promises of fear.

I have chosen your Christine and Watchers by Dean R.Koontz... I took them both, and do not ask me how I paid them, I did not really remember.
But it was already too late; I was attacked by a contagious King's book nightmarish thing.
I read a lot of them the next month’s until I became updated with the current production.

And I follow you since these years.

And today I create monsters. Do not ask me why, maybe because of you, I do not really know. But it is easy for me to do them.
It is more natural than to draw a car or a building.
I love monsters and creatures, and I would love today to share with you my work.
I hope you will appreciate them/ Hope you will be inspired, even if the horror emerges the more often in your books from the situations or the state of mind of your character.

Well, here are my latest and some old thing, but great things.
Take care if you are too young, some pictures could be shocking....

I am a bit concerned that Stephen is planning on writing a new story that sits between Wizard and Glass and Wolves of Calla. While I would kill to see Roland, Eddie, Jake and Susannah again I am not convinced that an aready perfect piece of work needs another part. Here are my reasons in no particular order.

1. Where will the drama come from? We already knows what happens to these characters so it's not like Stephen will be able to convince me that something "bad" will happen to the ka-tet. Sure he could add some new and interesting characters or bring back an old character (see - Callahan) for some sort of redemption. The problem here is that we know that none of these characters are worth investing too much in because they wont appear again later in the story.

2. I've never liked tweener stories. Mostly for the reasons above but they can also have other major negative effects.

3. How would he make it interesting or surprising? I am worried that this installment will greatly change our perception of one of the characters or the entire series. You know, Roland somehow has the horn in this book. In this case we wouldn't really be reading the book between the two stories but the next incarnation of Roland. Would he have to explain that anything different had happened up to that point? Would he owe us "another" final book?
Now that I think about it. Maybe that would be interesting.

What do you all think? Stephen are you ghosting ?

In 2010, SK will be publishing the graphic novel, American Vampire and also there will be a book release of Ghost Brothers of Darkland County.

But, I was just wondering if there will be a novel next year also, because I just can't wait a couple of years until the new DT novel.

Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.
