This is my favorite audio book. I very much enjoyed the quality of the voice of the narrator and somehow the words resonate in me like no other. Listening to the story, I painted and starred an entire movie in my head, and my memories of this are vivid images I created but cannot forget--as real and as textured as any great movie that I've seen and remembered. I'm sure there are better audio books, including Stephen King's works (The Talisman, Black House both with Peter Straub that I also thoroughly enjoyed), however, the story in Duma Key and the telling haunt me...so much so that I think about it often and retell the entire story in my head frequently. I'm hooked on audio books anyway, especially for travelling and in quiet vacation spots. The hearing of this audio book and the subsequent re-reading have been sources of fabulous entertainment for me. Thank you all!

This book would make a Great movie. i believe John slattery should be the actor to play the part of Edgar Freemantle. Since in the book he's writing it in the end, but plays the first two other lifes, which tells the story. An excellent book. It can be rated PG13. cause of the language and very mild sexuality. not unlike the movies out there now. Please make a movie of it. Please!!!!

This audiobook has been entirely enjoyable. Before this one, I had only listened to the audiobooks that Stephen himself read because I felt he was the only one who truly understood the characters. But John Slattery has been delightful to listen to and the story has been wonderful. I'm about an hour from finishing it, and am looking forward to the exciting end. Thank you Stephen for once again keeping me on the edge of my seat.

I would listen to John Slattery read the dictionary. He really brings Mr. King's words to life. I am only halfway thru the audio book because I keep replaying sections before moving on. I feel like I'm in the room with the characters. I don't want it to end.

This book had a special meaning to me as I'm an artist who seems to have lost his mojo. I'll get it back, I just don't know when, I think that's my decision to make. Thanks again Steve.
