How can anyone really say what hasn't already been said of Stephen King, his books, movies, etc.? Speaking not as a critic, a trained writer, but as a fan. I personally, I love this movie, love the atmosphere created, the vibe throughout, and of course the incredible performances by Cusak, and Jackson. I have known others to disagree, but as a long time fan, this I believe stays true to his roots of film adaptations which seriously lacks these days in present film.

GREAT scarry movie. Nearly scared me to death. Cusack and Jackson are great. Cusack really carries this movie. Good old Stephen King stuff. Highly recommend it.

Scary Movie Stephen King there is. The tension was unbearable at all, the atmosphere was freaky, the old and the daughter visions scared the heck out of me, and surprises, as the woman with the knife, made me SCREAM!

This looks exciting..been a fan since shortly after "The Stand" came out. It remains my favorite book and Mr King remains my favorite author.

This movie gave me the creeps. The 2 different endings confused me though.

I really enjoyed this movie. One of the few American horror films that has scares and heart.

Sherry, lets say you spent a night in that hotel, after the radio turning on by itself, then the clock counting down, thennn the window slamming down onto hes hands. I personally would be scared shit less :P

I really loved it, seen it at the theater and man this mother-fer had some bite. It was based on SK's short story which I read in his book On Writing. Cusack made me want to be a writer in it-It was Wicked!!!

This is the best psychological thriller since Misery, you are with John Cusaak all the way through the film, your see every moment of his experience and it sets a better mood than a thousand other horror films today. Although I preferred the ending where Enslin survived, I bought the DVD and I only have the director's cut where he dies, it's pretty crap. :( If anyone knows how to get the original ending it would be appreciated.

I love this movie. I watch it every time it comes on. Each time I watch it, I discover something new that I missed before.

Thought that this was one of the greater movie adaptions. I mean all his movies are good, I just thought that Samuel L Jackson and John Cusack did good in this movie.

A wonderful movie! I love King's (as well as the actor's) ability to tackle the long neglected genre of supernatural evil. This isn't some 'explain it away so you don't have to feel scared' movie... I've heard some criticism that it is too much like the video game Silent Hill 4: The Room....to which I can only say, so what? There are a handful of artists out there who hit on similar things, and maybe not because they inspire one another (and if they do, so what?) but maybe because they are all tapping into the same subtle truths!

This is, by far, one of my top 5 favorite movies! I read the book in which the story was originally written and thought that it fit the story too A tee, if not even a slight bit better!(Which is rare for me, alot of other people, because usually the movie never even compares to the novel.lol.)
