I thought the movie was better than the book itself. Sometimes movies are either better or not as good depending on what is omitted from a book so that a movie would actually be better. (The screenplay)

Carrie is an endearing character. I loved her comment, "Jesus loves everyone, Momma even me." She never looked for the gift; that was interesting. Was she 'washed in the blood?' and then baptized in the bathtub? Hmmmm.
