this was one of the best stories i had ever read;especially when we know that here horror is mixed with a little comedy(dolores always washed her mistress's shit from walls).

This was a great book! The movie was great also. Kathy Bates was the perfect choice. Her & I share the same last name now that I am remarried. Yes, I married a man with the last name Bates. First name is not Norman. After my divorce, my favorite thing to say was, "Sometimes being a bitch is all a woman has to hold on to." Needless to say I was single for 8 years. It was great! Thanks!

Great in characterization and literary expertise but low in thrills, heart attacks and grip than his other works

This is definitely one of my favourite books. I love it, it's one of the best, and I love the character of Dolores Claiborne.

I'm just busy rediscovering this book by way of the audiobook read by the wonderful Frances Sternhagen. I am wondering, however, why some names are different than in the original version. Take John Marshall, who is Frank Marshall on the CD, or Rick Thibodeau, who becomes a Gerry ... Not a big deal, I know, but why the deviations?
