does anyone think that Jonesy's time in the tracker brothers office is similar to Susannahs time in the dogan from Dark tower?

This book was magical. I absolutely enjoyed it/still enjoying it (I only have 50 pgs to go), but I've had a few issues with it, my biggest being that I didn't like the direction the book took. I'm all for a book about extraterrestrials, but when much of that book is played out in the minds of the characters, it takes away much of the thrills. I also found it harder and harder to believe as it progressed. The characters are what made me love the book, though; they're colorful, alive, and there's such a chemistry there that it's hard to describe. Duddits is one of the most likeable characters ever created. Everytime he's in a scene I can't help but smile. An good book, but I'd recommend it with caution.

SSDD! ... This is one of King's that I'm not so sure of my opinion... Extraterrestrial invasion feels so cliche by now... But King still brings plenty of fresh ideas and for that I praise him. I must say though all the references to sci-fi movies seriously were beginning to annoy me... What I love about this book though is there is no other book out there pertaining to alien invasions that is so outlandish and psychological. The parts with the Dreamcatcher were simply amazing.... And the climax was quite good. Mr. Grey is also a very nicely done character. His gradual process of gaining human emotion is simply wonderfully done. And his escapades in Jonesy in search of bacon lead to some humorous and unforgettable moments. I also must add finally that every integral character is excellently portrayed. Over time you feel as if they are your own friends! Good book, quite entertaining... But definitely not King's best.
