did we ever find out what made the fake phone call to the police during the book?

The first time I read this book was in the 6th or 7th grade. Can you believe it? They had it a book order form for little kids and I bought it becuase I loved Rose Red. It still surprises me that they would put this book on there... but anyway, when I first read it I loved it and I currently want to read more of his books and see more of the movies again. It's a great book and I highly recomend it

I just finished reading the paperback version of the novel and I simply couldn't put it down. There is so much to relate to - bands and phrases and family situations, as well as sports - that you become easily engrossed in the story, and you begin to see things as Trisha does. King did a phenomenal job portraying her as a mature child, and as well making sure to express her vulnerability as someone that is so young, and so unaware of what this new world around her really has in store for her. It is one of the first books I've read - and the only one I've been so taken with - that I've sort of rekindled my appreciation for his complex ideas. He's definitely a master of transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary.

It was the first book I read by Steven King and it will be the last I read because I thought it was very frightening... well, maybe I will some more books of his because frightening was what I wanted.

***SPOILERS***

What an amazing book. A real page turner. Although for some reason I think that Stephen decided to cut the ending a little short. I was rather disappointed when a guy just comes out and shot IT (the thing that followed Trisha throughout the book). It just seemed like there was so much build up for nothing. However the writing is amazing; Stephen is a true master story teller and I did enjoy reading this book. This was the first Stephen King book that I ever picked up, and I have been hooked on him ever since.
