My favourite SK book. The best post-apocalyptic novel I've ever read. I've read it four times since 1980, and I will be reading again at least once more in my life. Great cast of characters and the suspense is tremendous. Flagg is a naughty man!

I never really liked reading books, but I decided to give them a try, The Stand was the first book i ever read (outside of education, ect.) and it is still the best book i've read. I honestly couldnt put the book down, it was fantastic.

Id like to say that its an outstanding novel, no doubt there, has great characters, with a deep moral and spiritual search and a great epic - symbolic batlle between good and evil. But I wouldnt go as far as to say its his best book. Personally I prefer The Dead Zone, Pet Sematary, or The Dark Tower series in spite of the Stand but must admit that its a helluva nightmare!

I honestly did not like this book. I was having trouble reading it. (I got through the first 70 or so pages) It was confusing.
