The movie was absolutely PUTRID, as usual, with Hollywood killing Uncle Steve's amazing stories. Only Shawshank, Stand By Me and and the Green Mile can stand up.

This novella was the best book I have ever laid my eyes upon. I am an eleven year old boy and I am growing to like all of Steve king's works. I am currently in the process of reading and (enjoying) Stephen king's It and The Mist (which comes with the skeleton crew or by it self, like I purchased it). The Mist was the book that got me into Stephen King's works. All in all, Great book!

Very suspenseful, I enjoyed it. Not a fan of the ending, though I suppose it was rather fitting. Liked it nonetheless.

'THE MIST' a fantstic joyride of a book, shades of LOVECRAFT, and KING'S writing is faultless. i enjoyed the book's ending better than the film. @ Jakob! just pick a damned book to read lol!

I wish the movies end would have been the same as the book. It would have pissed a lot of people off but who cares?

The Mist should be published as an unabridged audio book

I read this story a long time ago and nearly had a heartattack when I saw it was going to be a movie. This is one where I thought the movie was good to the book. I was curious to see how then ending was going to turn out in the movie, I was glad to see it ended differently than the story.

for the first time i think that the movie is better than the book. i saw the movie and read the book. in my opinion the book leaves you hangin on to many parts, from not knowin if david wife is ok or is it really arrow head project fault. surpisingly movie reveals all that and more(im not tyring to give too much away) but the movie is great

This is probably one of the favourite stories that I've read. I loved every single bit of it from the beginning to the middle to the ending. I absolutely loved it.

I was up late reading it one night, at one of the first suspenseful moments, and my idiot iPod speakers started making these loud buzzing noises (as they are prone to do). I think I came pretty close to jumping out of my skin. Either way, a great read.

My favorite of all Stephen King's work. After I finished reading it, I just stared at my wall for minutes. It was sooo.... *whoa* I love the part "something so big it defied imagination" Everything was so right about this. ******SPOILERS*********** At first, when he was on his way to get his wife I was a little disappointed. I thought for sure he would find her, but hehe, no-sir-ee. It was great. I must have read this 10 times that week. Another hit, love ya stephen king.

My first ever Stephen King story/novella, (not counting the dark Tower, since I could never finish it) and it was worth getting past my preconceived notions of horror/suspense to read this. Although I have to say, I was not happy at all with the movie, especially the ending....

I read this story in the Skeleton Crew when it came out. This has always been one of my favorite short stories, if not the favorite. I have wanted to see a movie done of this for 20 years, and I was so excited when it came out! I loved the movie, saw it in the theater, bought the DVD and I just want to say Thank You Stephen King for a great story and movie. I hated but loved the ending, you couldn't of done any other way.
