This is like shawshank crammed into fifteen minutes. One man, trapped in a one-man hell. Soon he'll have to make the decision of his life. And the millions of little bits which come together around him to shape his decision to live; by any means available. Every gesture, every word, it all adds up to this man taking the biggest risk of his life to escape the scariest situation imaginable. Unlike shawshank these little bits come almost right on top of one another. Its visceral more than it is cerebral. Its instinct that saves him, not patience. Beyond all that, there are truly two few movies where a mans saving grace is a cigarette. Not only is that rare, but its a wonderful representation of the acceptance of the inevitable. Its the question that comes to all of us eventually. You wanna play the odds, or you want somebody to make a damn movie about yah someday?
