I adore this story. I have OCD and also live 5 miles from stonehenge, so you can imagine what this story did to my sleep the night after i'd read it! I also agree, a touch of Lovecraft here. My favourite of Stephen King's are his short stories and this one is definately up there with my favourites.

really good, but 26 is a horrid number. 2 -13's make 26. its double 13.

Sensed a little H.P.Lovecraft in this story and i think that is what made it so great to read.

This short story, in After The Sunset, it scared me. I imagined the whole day after reading this what if I had OCD like that, and visited Ackerman's Field and found the same thing happening to me. There are few things in this world that hit because they are so real, so nightmarish.

I thought this story was brilliant. ***SPOILER**** do you ever get to know if it was something supernatural or if it was truly like some kind of contagious insanity, like mass hysteria only different? I think it was meant to be supernatural. it was still very interesting, one of my favorites. having dealt with OCD first hand... amazing. This man is a BRILLIANT writer.
