Some of the best actors in one of the most boring, terrible remakes I have ever seen. I could not, and have never been able to get through an entire sitting of this version based on the Book? Did King have any say in the Direction of this? Just curious...I cannot imagine it would have received his stamp of approval...

I'm a fan of Stephen King movies and books.

Okay, I have to be honest, the first " 'Salem's Lot" movie sucked. This version is amazing. You have to admit that. I am a huge fan of Stephen King. I have just begin reading the book for " 'Salem's Lot", and needless to say, I LOVE IT!

I just recently re watched this remake. This was one of the best SK remakes I ever saw. To be fair, I never read Salem's Lot, but it broke some things down for me. I could re watch the original just to jog my memory, but so far I like this Salem's Lot the best. The remake of the Shining wasn't too shabby either.

People say which one of the salem's lots is they're fav, but to me there like both good each one being a bit diffrent makes it move great to me barlow in the 70's one was scary and the barlow in this one is creepy. both are great in my opinion

I read the novel and immediately watched both film adaptations, and i gotta say - neither did the book justice. The remake was closer in spirit to the novel, but the acting was pretty terrible, especially coming from such a talented cast.

I really enjoyed this movie. I love the book and I felt this movie did the book justice. Like all books turned into movies it's going to be different. I like the casting and I especially like the voice overs of the text.

Very enjoyable. Casting was great and the tele-play revision to a contemporary setting worked well - in many ways added another layer to the story and the nature of the vampire. Pointless to compare to the book. Books are books and films are films and this was one of the best TV versions. A remake of The Stand would be cool in the current state of world affairs... and a movie of Insomnia (Pure genius) and The Talisman are more than desired... they are needed! ; )

I believe that this version is much better than the original because the original lacked alot of Kings key elemnets, but then again this one did too

Its hard to judge this version. If you have not seen the '79 tv show or read the book then I suppose this is rather a good show, but if you have done either of the above then this is a real disappointment from the beginning.
