THE BOOK IS TERRIFIC, I'VE READ IT 9 OR 10 TIMES, IN ITALY HAS BEEN TRANSLATED "THE SCORPION'S SHADOW". THE MOVIE IS NOT UP TO THE BOOK, 4 EPISODES ARE FEW. THE MOVIE HAD TO BE LONGER TO DESCRIBE PROPERLY THE BOOK, EXPECIALLY IN THE BEGINNING, DURING "CAPTAIN'S TRIP" DEADLY ESCALATION. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CAST, THEY'VE PLAYED AT THEIR BEST.

Looking everywhere for the DVD "The Stand". Will it be released again. I keep renting the one at the video store. Crappy copy. It is all scratched up.

Lynnr:I just got it on DVD for Christmas. It came with two other movies; The Langoliers and Golden Years. I'm almost positive it was from Amazon.

To Lynnr: I had to order it on Amazon from someone in Canada. It's sad that a brilliant movie such as this has gone out of print.

Does anyone know where the scene was shot in this movie of a small town they stop to rest in and it has a river that runs between the houses? It's really beautiful. I think it's where the old man lived. Please help!!!

hi all.i saw this when it first came on tv and was blown away by it then.well about 2 yrs ago i found it on dvd and the dvd has a commentary track with all the actors and such but the real gem is steve kings commentary.i think that it still has the power to charm enchant and scare the daylights out of ya peace out

Mr. King, I don't know if you heard this before but this particular movie was beyond words to me almost lively prophetic in its on time zone. 2009 versus 1994 and this movie is active in the lives of millions. I give up... speechless. Nothing more to say

I love this movie, I only wish they would have put the sick and crazed military officer who was walking around in his underwear and shooting people or the tornado that Nick and Tom experience. Oh well, this movie is still freaking amazing.
