I've literally just this minute finished reading The Shining for the first time. At the age of almost-41-years-old, I'm now asking myself why the hell I waited so long!

I've got to be honest and say that I struggled with it a little for the first 60 or 70 pages. The whole alcoholism backstory isn't the most original thing in the world and I started to think this one might not be for me... how wrong I was!

I should have known better than to doubt the old master - even if it was only a momentary doubt.

Yet again, Mr. King delivers the goods and my admiration for him keeps on growing. What a fantastic piece of writing this is. No wonder it's widely regarded as one of his best.

Ok. Now that you enter the gates why not jump on to the next generation of Torrances. Try Dr. Sleep!

Dr. Sleep is definitely on the list.

I've got The Dead Zone, Lisey's Story and On Writing to look forward to at the moment. Just picked up a copy of Clive Barker's Books of Blood as well.

These should keep me busy for a while.
I've recently re-read Books of Blood! Really creepy out there stuff, enjoy! And you must read Dr Sleep soon!!
