So as summer begins, I am trying to read as many books this summer as I can. However, I have noticed a pattern in me. If I start off the summer with a good, quick read, the other books I read will generally be good quick reads. If it takes forever to read the first book, it'll be painfully long to read the others.

So I was wondering if there were any good Stephen King books that I would be able to read in a day or two?

btw, I have an average reading speed.

Joyland for sure! And it's a good read.:)

I totally agree, definitely Joyland. I read The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon in one day while I was on holiday a few years ago, and last year I did a couple of SK's short story collections (can't remember which ones though, sorry!) in about five days, so they're always worth a read!

how about a collection...Four Past Midnight...Different Seasons. What are there, four stories in each one? 4-pk. Good beach carry. Maybe find a used paperback and tear it apart so you have four shorter pieces if the thickness of the book is too much. Be on guard against purists with sharp knives. Adds a bit to the adventure, though, live dangerously.

Mr. Mercedes will be out next week (June 3rd). I'd be very surprised if you didn't find it to be a quick read even at 436 pages. :smile2:
