According to Wikipedia the answer to your first question is yes...I think they are variations of the same...and yes, Flagg in The Stand certainlyhas a short memory at times, as he is bewildered again when he is zapped into the jungle and the natives bow down to the bewildered man whose memory beings to kick in at that moment.
NO!!!!Did I mention...you can call me Walter...hehehehehe!
I thought the same thing. One thing I don't get in the book and I'm reading the graphic novel at the moment is why Randall Flagg needs papers and a car from Kit Bradenton. I never could understand why seeing 99.5% of the population in America is dead, why does he need papers. And he could choose what car to take because no one is using theirs. Also, Flagg must have organised this in advance, so does that mean he had some prior knowledge of catastrophe?
This makes me think of the movie "The Exorcist" when the older priest tells the younger one that it is one and the same demon they are dealing withI am very interested in the relation of The Stand's Randall Flagg with Eye of the Dragon's Flagg and The Dark Tower's 'dark man'.
