For some reason that probably be From a Buick 8. Forgetten most of it. Then i didn't finish Black house but that doesn't count as forgetting does it? The other ones mentioned Cujo, Dolores claiborne etc are clear in my mind. I dont count the short stories because there are always some that you forget in any collection of short stories by any author. Personally i don't understand how anyone can forget Pet semetary. Scared the crap out of me and havent read it since but i still have nightmares from time to time.

I loved From a Buick 8.
Ditto. Re-read last year.

Cujo. I really don't remember that.

I wish I could forget the short story collections. They are among my favourite. My memory is so bad, but when I pick up Everything's Eventual, or Full Dark, and flip into it, I remember each one so well I have to put it back.

I hope this does not sound like sacrilege but the very first DT book (the Gunslinger). My mind kept wandering during that book yet now I found I've enjoyed the second and third books and just picked up the 4th.

I started to read the Gunslinger YEARS ago and quit. Picked it up again a few years back because a new friend had all the DT books and lent them to me. I read them back-to-back and finished shortly before TWTTK came out and read that one right away! Now the only one I quit on and haven't tried reading again is Blaze.
The main character just made me so sad.

I still haven't read Blaze... I have no idea in fact, what it is about.

Did you read the original Gunslinger or the revised one?

Basic plot is: (not too spoilery, it's on the back of the book)
Small time crook gets roped into a "big payout" job - he's the muscle, his friend isthe brains behind a kidnap of an infant heir and ransom. By the time the plan goes down, the brains has died, leaving Blaze out of his depth hiding out in the maine woods with an infant hostage
I don't know how it goes down, because I've not read it. The synopsis doesn't really shout "read me" at me, sounds kind of like a watered down "Lloyd and Poke's Big Day Out" ;-D I am sure I am being unfair to it - mind you, now that I think of it, a side story about Lloyd and Poke......that would be an interesting read.

After reading your spoiler I think now I would like to try that one - is it a short story? (I will have to go look in "The Library" now).

Just had the exact same experience. Reading the Gunslinger, I kept reading a page and having to read it again because my mind had wondered, and kept telling myself " What's happening? Oh yeah, he's following the man in black". I thought I'd never get through it and was terribly frustrated because DT is such a big part of his work, the spine of his work even as I was told, it seemed wrong that I had no idea what it was about. So in the end I just read bits here and there until the end then picked up the second, and oh boy, what a change! I'm into the 3rd right now,and absolutely loving it !

It's about the same kind of size book as 'tom Gordon. I gotta say, reading the synopsis from the sk library, it sounds a bit more interesting than the one on the back of my book.
I think I have been on this board too long today - now I am laughing out loud about this comment! o_O:rofl:
Come on neesy, you know better than to encourage him :)

Btw, am I the only person on here who got right into the gunslinger on their first read?

I honestly don't remember much about The Colorado Kid, though in fairness having read it years ago I wouldn't expect to necessarily remember much. I do think stories that have a punch which effects me I tend to remember the details of much more so.

No, I enjoyed it on the first time through-while it was probably my least favourite of the series, it did hook me in.
