I didn't know that one had been sold and was going to be published in Esquire. grrrrrrr I've read it although he'd only titled it "That Bus" at the time. Steve wrote it not long after we got back from Europe as he got the inspiration as we were heading into Paris from the airport. Traffic was heavy and we were stopped next to a bus. He shared with us the idea of something (bad) happening on the bus being witnessed by a person in a vehicle next to it and what they would do about it came to him and voila, a new story! At the time I told him in this day and age, it would probably show up on Facebook within 5 minutes because most likely someone would be taking a video with their cell phone. :wink2:

Anyone else read it yet? I finished it last night.

It was not my favorite after the initial finish. But upon waking it seems to have stuck with me and I find myself still pondering over the story. It grows on you. The more one ponders, the more unsettling it becomes. Unfortunately it is more realistic than you'd at first think. Speaks volumes about our money driven culture and values.[\spoiler]

Day late and a dollar short.

Not the story...me. Thumbing through an Esquire yesterday at Book World on Shelden...Esquire down there at floor level...Playboy at eye level. Heh! Oh, look over yonder, who's that? Had the September issue in my hands...Esquire, not Playboy...trying to find an index or table of contents...twenty pages of hunka hunka burnin luvs in sharp dress...table of contents spread over about...2-3 pages. I knew I needed to find the August issue...it is August, after all. What is it with magazines putting out the Octobruary issue in Jungust? Wife found a copy online for me. September issue I had put it back...you still feel obligated to buy something in a situation like that? Support the local business?

 I can picture this happening.
And... I cannot even leave the supermarket without buying something (I didn't want) if they don't have what I needed. It always feels like they might think I am shop-lifting if I leave without a purchase.
