I couldn't watch Saw 2 because of the scene where the girl has to put her hand in the clear tube to get the antidote. I can watch people get their arms, lega or heads torn off but cannot abide watching someone get cut!!!!!!

Saw IV has an awesome scene where a dude is strapped to a chair and the only way to release the locks on his shackles is to push his face through a bunch of butcher knives.

What did you thikn of it? I saw a preview on another movie I was watching 7 was intrigued--Dennis Quaid is criminally underrated, IMHO.

i enjoyed it, and admittedly, i'm a bit snooty when it comes to films.... it's a bit slow moving but i think it had a lot of heart in depicting a family that's starting to unravel~

I've never seen the SAW movies--I had the impression they were upscale snuff films. Now you make me re-think (at least on the first one) I trust your judgement :) Might have to give that one a chance.
Give it a try. The first part is worth it, and there are almost no disgusting moments, the movie in general looks more like a thriller and detective.

Watched Saw 3. Guess I will have to watch all 7 movies... I am really interested now in the story of Saw, I want to know reasons why he was doing things he was doing. The third part is okay, as usually on this franchise the ending is superb. But there is rather more blood in this part.

I generally don't like this type of movie either, but the original Saw is worth a watch! =D
Absolutely. Saw 2 onwards are fairly gross hack and slash movies (albeit with a good motive driving the killer): Saw is an excellent claustrophobic horror thriller, and a brilliant example of how gripping a film is possible on a small budget. Highly recommended.

Incidentally, for the record, the plural of Lego is Lego - it is a plural noun. You can have one Lego brick or many Lego bricks, you can have some Lego, or a lot of Lego: what you can't have is some Legos. No such thing. :D

I have a 4th of July tradition of watching Jaws and Jaws 2. The weather was cruddy so it was good day to stay in and watch some movies.

That reminds me of a Golden Girls episode when Rose's cousin was coming for a visit and she was explaining how the guy's father, Big Sven, came to this country.
She said "First Big Sven came, then he brought his father over. We call him Big Sven too."
"Doesn't that get confusing," Blanche asked, "having two guys named Big Sven?"
"There aren't, Blanche. There's Big Sven and Big Sven 2. Like Jaws and Jaws 2.
"Tell me Rose," said Dorothy. "Are any of your relatives named Psycho and Psycho 2?"

Quantum Of Solace (2008) Daniel Craig

This is the second of the Daniel Craig "Bond" films. This one has some problems but I do like the story. One of the problems was that there was a writer's strike during the making of the film and there was no one to fine tune the script. Another problem is that the action sequences are too jumpy and hard to follow. Also, there is almost zero of that Bond tongue in cheek humor, this one is deadly serious (which I don't really have a problem with). But, if you go in knowing that there are a few problems with it, it's a pretty good story and I liked it. If the problems could have been fixed, this could have been as good as the other two Daniel Craig "Bond" films.

The thing I loved most about Quantum Of Solace was the ending - no cheesy jokey one liner as he's left canoodling with the girl, just a quiet, understated yet intensely meaningful moment which brings complete closure to the Casino Royale/Quantum Of Solace arc.

Yesterday watched Saw 4. Not sure that I will watch the remaining three movies... but probably I will, at least to have an opinion about the whole franchise. All I can say is so far I liked the first part the most. There is something interesting about the story in every part, but the first part was way better. Another proof that sequels are seldom much better than the original.
