Django. Is that how that's spelled? This one took me a bit to get through. Great acting by everyone. I would like to know the process they went through. This has got to be very very difficult chaining people up, calling them the n word and being mean and cruel--even though it is acting. If I would have been an actor in this film, I would have been constantly apologizing for what I was about to say or do.

The Colony was a dystopian about a new ice age, presumably caused by global warming, with a twist. Laurence Fishburn was as good as he usually is, Bill Paxton did his typical bully/coward, and there was a kid named Kevin Zegers who was quite good. No idea who he is--looks like he comes from a boy band--but he did a good job. Decent summer evening horror :)

Re-watched Sucker Punch (2011). There is something interesting about the movie, it's strange and it's hard to understand everything (reminds me of Mulholland Dr. in a way), but it's still interesting. And i just love soundtracks.

Now You See Me. Pretty entertaining, until the crap ending. I hate when movies do that.

I'm trying to remember that one. I have a vague recollection of being reasonably entertained and somewhat put off. Like The Prestige.

I really dislike Bill Paxton!

Awww, gee. Hudson in Aliens? The man spiraling to his own doom in A Simple Plan? Fred Haise in Apollo 13? Chet in Weird Sci.... okay, he was the bully/coward in that one, but carried it off really well. Morgan Earp in Tombstone? The weatherman in that fluff tornado movie? Among others. He's really had quite a varied career.

Trivia note: Bill Paxton was in the crowd in Dealy Plaza when Kennedy was shot.

I watched a documentary about Ginger Baker, the legendary drummer. I never caught the title. It was interesting for me since I come from a musical era in which Baker largely figured. I think the documentary was very thorough and candid. I'm glad some of the musicians from my day are at least still alive.

Sucker Punch illustrates everything that is best and worst about Zack Snyder - he is brilliant at putting arresting visuals on screen, but he should never be let anywhere near a typewriter. Sucker Punch is misogynistic adolescent wish fulfilment from someone who gives the impression of being a 14 year old who hasn't taken his ritalin, a randy little ADD sufferer who has never read anything except comics, and whose world experience comes exclusively from videogames.

I watched a really awesome movie a few days ago. The writer was great, because the ending was a surprise in every way. It's a horror story though and it ends on a sad note. I like movies that keep me guessing and sometimes prove my guesses wrong. This one proved EVERY guess incorrect.
It was called 'The Uninvited.'

My daughters love that movie! It's based on a Korean horror movie that they keep trying to get me to watch--lol
