I just get tired of seeing him play the same character in every movie- the 'oh woe is me, my life sicks, things would be better if only.........'. Not my cup of tea.
Woody Allen's one of those you-either-love-him-or-you-hate-him people, I think. Annie Hall is a great movie, though, imho. His crowning achievement.

I watched a movie titled Cypher today. Very interesting scifi thriller. I switched from cable to dish and got three months free premium channels, which means I've seen a number of really good movies lately.

The Avengers. For about the 40th time--lol. I love that movie :) I saw Captain America: The Winter Soldier at the cheap theater yesterday afternoon. It was miles better than the last CA movie, aside from all the crap that made no sense whatsoever. Still, an exciting popcorn muncher, and to my mind the best Marvel solo Avenger movie since the first Iron Man movie. I'd watch it again.

Have you seen Sleeper? It's a very early film of his and, as I stated earlier, it's the only one I like. It's got some serious laugh-out-loud moments in it.
I don't think so. I do remember seeing Everything You Ever Wanted to Know about Sex at the drive in with my parents when I was about 4 (lol--I think they assumed the kidlets would be asleep before the second feature started. Oh those silly, silly people…).

My Cousin Vinnie for the millionth time. Still as hilarious as it was when it was released. Marisa Tomei so deserved her Oscar for that performance.

What a pleasure that movie was, with the karate kid in there and all. If you're a heterosexual male, I don't know how you could not fall in love with Marisa Tomei and her character in that one. Priceless.

The Negotiator, with Kevin Spacey and Samuel L Jackson. Real good suspension thriller.

A taut, well-done yarn. Grandma kinda feels about Kevin Spacey and Sam Jackson the way I feel about Marisa Tomei, so it was a good night, movie-wise.

I don't usually hate him, but I rarely like him. Mostly, he's tedious. I had remarkably few laughs through Sleeper, was charmed by a few moments in Annie Hall but was overall unimpressed, and Everything You Wanted to Know About Sex etc. was a dreary mess, although I thought Gene Wilder was kinda funny being wild and wooly. It was at that point that I thought I'd give up on Mr. Allen. But based on reviews (the reviewers like Woody Allen far more than the public), we picked up Deconstructing Harry. We made it through about 15 minutes, felt our will to live start to evaporate, and turned it off.

We're pondering Lucy. We've heard enough snorts and cheers that it's got us intrigued, and we liked the trailer.

I keep saying I'm going to go to Lucy. Haven't made it yet.

I can't stand Woody Allen movies (only Purple Rose of Cairo was bearable, and that was because of Jeff Daniels). You are not alone.
When I don't like Woody Allen films, I really loathe them: Annie Hall, Sleeper, A Midsummer Night's Sex Comedy, Deconstructing Harry, Hannah and Her Sisters.
When I like his films, I either like them or really love them: Sweet and Lowdown, Midnight in Paris, Scoop, Manhattan, Bullets Over Broadway, Crimes and Misdemeanors, Manhattan Murder Mystery, Vicky Christina Barcelona.

Kinda generic "timepiece" movie, but "The Butler" on Showtime/Demand isn't bad. I thought John Cusack had a great small part as a young Nixon. Oprah was good. No need to name them all, but a lot of good bit characters that I didn't see coming.
I liked this film and thought Cusack was the stand-out in it, kinda like how Viola Davis completely stole Doubt with only 12 lines and left me gutted.

I loved the cast of Vicky Christina Barcelona, but felt they were wasted on a pointless, meandering story.

Three of us couples in a mountain condo, having a lovely evening. Rather than play cards and drink beer into the night, the wimminz wanted to watch a movie - this one in particular. Because of the cast.

When it was over, following a short but moody silence, the guys said, "Okay. You owe us for that one." The girls were glum. They'd have rather played cards and guzzled beer.
