Goot morning, dear Tet. I'm up and at it, prepared to manage the store and be productive.
If only I could get my eyes to stop burning and tearing up. I'm sure it's got nothing to do with the fact that I'm allergic to cats. So of course we own, like, ten of 'em, if you count the strays we feed.
Guh.
But, hey. I found out that you can swallow an allergy pill with yogurt, in a pinch. I should be okay in a little while. Then I can mind the store and do something productive.

What are you up to today?

I am relaxing today. we had a yard Sale yesterday. Had to put things away and do some grocery shopping afterwards. So today is lazy day. A couple loads of laundry. We have a thunderstorm, so good day to sit around.

It rained all day yesterday and looks like the same for today...How'd the yard sale go? I've had two garage sales in my life and they were a h*ll of a lot of work!!!

It went pretty good. just basically sold the leftover stuff from our last one. Which we made around $500. This time we made about $125 but we sold nothing big or high priced. a quarter, fifty cents ,maybe a dollar. but went well.

Good for you! The first one I had I made $400-which was pretty good considering I didn't have any big-ticket items or children's stuff!

One thing I plan to get done today is some gardening. I don't need to mow (so the local turtles are safe), but there's a lot of other stuff. Leaves that have acquired over the past decade or so need to be pried out of the edges, and anybody in Louisiana can tell you that if you don't stay on top of it, a yard will overgrow FAST, with everything from saplings to kudzu, even wild grapes and Sumac. There's a LOT of overgrowth that needs to be tamed. Not just creeping around the edges, but growing up brash and bold around and in the middle of everything we've got going now. Our figs have whole trees that want to grow up in the middle of them, as well as these irritating viny things. Everything's canopied on the side of the yard so badly that using the clothesline is no longer an option, even if we wanted to. A LOT needs to come down.
Out of all the junk growing in our yard, I think the Camellia's my favorite.

That's not mine, but that's exactly what it looks like.

Next spring, I plan to put in a granny garden, like this.

I've got the perfect spot for it. That's one of the spots that needs to get raked.

Do you garden? What's your favorite thing in your yard?
I had a dream about that turtle last night! You know what a softie I am about the critters!! :a11:

I used to have a little store and I've sold on ebay over the years-accessories mostly. My goal has always been to have an online store, but since I don't have the computer savvy you do, I need to hire someone to help me! That's what I'm trying to save up for now. Very cool leggings! =D
It's not that hard, really. I'm just picky. There are lots of servicable templates for stores, or use a sitebuilder where you can drag and drop. That's what I'm thinking about, since I can't find a template to suit me. Instead of some complicated shopping cart payment system, just use a paypal cart. Since paypal is customizable, it's pretty seamless.

Lepp, I have so much crap that I would love to sell. Is e-bay really worth the hassle of picture, description, payment etc?

I've done yard sales in the past, with good results, so curious about online store.
Ebay's changed. For the better, I think. They used to charge practically per letter, per listing, per picture, per everything. Now, the first 50 listings a month are free, with up to 12 free pictures. They make their money now by keeping a percentage of your final sale price. There are exceptions to the free listings, of course, depending on what you want to sell. Clothes, for example, aren't free to list for the first 50. Those listings cost a flat fee of .30 cents to list, with up to 12 free pictures. There are a few other categories that have that flat fee, too, aside from clothing. There's a list.
They've simplified the process a great deal and walk you right through it. And they've got tutorials for everything, from how to post a listing to how much to charge, and how much they keep. They explain everything. So just take the time to read through everything.
All in all, yes. It's worth doing. I'll probably keep an ebay store alongside the dot com.

Frustrating day. Had my religious ed classroom moved, only three kids showed up & all girls (so getting them to talk was like pulling teeth), and my kids were horrible in church. I considered taking up drinking for the rest of the day (lol), but instead I have to take DD #2 school shopping. I'd rather have MY teeth pulled. *sigh* On the bright side, we can have relig. ed., we have a place to do it, I have kids who are well enough to act up, and $ to buy a few things.

Coffee, then onward & upward! Have a nice day :D
