Just finished watching Wish You Were Here (2012) on Netflix (thanks for the recommendation TrueGeneration !) Very disturbing-thought I had it all figured out, but I was wrong!

No problem, morgan! And I felt the same way about the ending, too!

Is that an Aussie movie? With the girl from Warm Bodies and Tom Hardy's brother from Warrior?

Ok, morgan, you have to watch Warrior now. It's terrific. Overall, a compelling story. Great acting by Hardy, Edgerton and Nick Nolte! Should still be on Netflix! :)

He looks about 19!! :icon_eek:

HE'S 31! LOL.

I just watched this today per your suggestion. Sandy always plays weird women. She's creepy in Four Seasons,Who's afraid of Virginia Woolf, krf's nod to her in jimmy dean and now this one. She is just odd.

This movie was very interesting, sort of a creepy art house type thing.

"That Cold Day" is one of Robert Altman's first films. His stamp is on it too. Those scenes where you can hear the people talking in the background (mainly the scene at the clinic) is a technique he used all the time. You see that it most all of his movies. The conversations in that clinic were pretty strange. ;-D

I haven't seen a lot of Aussie movies, to be honest. Netflix gets more English, Irish, French, and Scandinavian. I like foreign films--it's interesting seeing where we as countries and how we view events are alike and how we are different.

So far, I've learned that American movies (big budget ones, anyway) aren't nearly as interesting to me (lol).
I would agree depending on your definition of "big budget". I assume The Hours cost approximately a mint to make, yet it's arguably as interesting as any movie I've ever seen.

I never saw that movie, though I read the book. Maybe it was lower budget/indie? I guess by 'big budget' I'm thinking blockbuster. And The Avengers will always be an exception for me. My favorite classic superhero movie--I can't count how many times I've watched (and loved) that movie, despite all the errors.

YIKES! I looked this one up on IMDb, and it had a HUGE budget (and only made a small portion of it back).

My third Greg Kinnear-athon movie...watched Stuck In Love for the second time (it's on Netflix). LOVED the SK references and hearing his voice! When this movie first came out, one of the members (wish I could remember who!) started a thread about it. I rented it when it was released on DVD. The director, Josh Boone, reportedly sent SK some of his writing when he was 12 years old and SK wrote back to him and encouraged him to continue writing! I love this! Boone's big break was Stuck In Love and the fact that SK agreed to do the voice cameo was an act of amazing kindness and generosity! Maybe he actually remembered Boone's childhood letter!
