Hope you don't mind me butting in. I can't participate when you are discussing it (night time in sweden and i'm sleeping hopefully) so thought i should give you my little modest bit now instead. I really like this story. First the describtion of the couple and his stubbornness in admiting they are getting lost and then when the stars start to come forward. Janis as a waitress and Elvis as the major of the whole community where my faves. My only little wonderment.. That other waitress, (she was a waitress right, suddenly i'm not sure, i mean the one who warned them to get out) was she a part of the original community or some star King didn't name? Anyway i enjoyed it very much.

I think she was (like them) someone who was passing through and just got caught there by the members of the town.

Kurben, I agree with Neesy on this point. I think she was traveling and needed a place to stop. What could be more safe than a Norman Rockwell type town?

Yes-and at the end Mary asked her how long she'd been there.

I was just remembering too, Sissy's cold sore and blood-shot eyes made her seem "alive/real" to me.

I agree there is not much more to discuss and you guys are probably tired by now! Just thought I would post a quickie pic of a few of the musicians who have passed on. :byebye:

Sounds like he has been on such a trip as the one described in this story.

It is funny but I sort of went through something similar this summer on the way to the KingKon in Ohio. A long road trip is really hard on a couple. I recall the feeling when we got lost going into Chicago - that was awful! (We were supposed to bypass it completely and ended up going through it instead - it was hell and delayed our arrival by hours).
I drove through Chicago with my college boyfriend and it was indeed VERY stressful!

Thanks for joining us tonight Neesy ! I know VultureLvr45 gets depressed when I'm the only one who shows up! Maybe you could help us spread the word?! =D
I guess so! (Maybe discussing books seems too much like work or an obligation perhaps but once we get here it is not too bad). It has been a long time since I had to have my homework done on time. :biggrin2:

Morgan, you are so precious. It isn't that I am depressed (more likely a little sad) but really, I am surprised that more people don't want to discuss the stories. I mean of all the SK fans here on the Message Board, they don't want to discuss the magic that makes Sai King golden. Mind Boggling.

Sometimes it seems Chattery Teeth sees a lot more action than any of the threads re discussions of his books. Perhaps we are just not a serious enough group. :blues:

And it's not like there are a huge number of pages expected to be read in a week's time! Even when we get to full-length novels, I'm sure it will be a reasonable amount of pages per week. There are so many voracious readers on this board-they could read these pages lickety-split!

Well guys, if we keep plugging along, a few more people are bound to join us. There are a couple people who lurk or who come after we have finished and like, so maybe in time they will decide to join us. Until then, let's keep chugging along. Home Delivery, thirty or so pages for next week, and as always, thank-you for your time and conversation.

Sorry about not being able to be there in time. I will be dropping by irregularly. but since it is in the middle of the night in sweden i probably wont be there when you are. But it is a good thing you're doing. Keep going, girl. I will be in, not to every story, but to the ones when i have time (and remember, i admit i am a bit forgetful sometimes). A big smile to you.

You can still post your thoughts either before Friday night or after Kurben - I plan to do that when I cannot be here. I notice one Friday falls on a Halloween night and I will be busy that evening with trick or treaters

I just read this, for, the first time over the last few days at work on my breacks, and Just love it. Found it. Funny and creepy. I love how every one is. Stoned and how they where like! Dead zombie versions of them selves. I did think that he included Kurt cobain. I wizh he whould do a second part, like a welcoming party for all the lost musicians last year. And give an update on the couple who,got lost in the first place
