Saw the play this past Sunday in Baltimore. Bringing my 3-disc Hardcover Edition with me that I've had since it was first published, I was antsy to see the music come to life, and the story unfold. I was NOT disappointed, and in fact pleasantly surprised by the changes that the master trio incorporated since the original CD release. Specifically, using the Zydeco Cowboy as the Narrator helped the flow of the story, and the change in scenery from rooms to a single mic and the entire cast on stage at all times added a stark 'chilliness' to the story telling. I would love to see a cast recording of the touring players, who did a phenomenol job. Thank you, Mr. King, Mr. Mellancamp, and Mr. Burnett...well done.
p.s. - I have literally read everything Stephen King has ever written - fiction, non-fiction, going back to the articles in Playboy my Dad would cut out for me! Psyching myself up now for Revival...
