Lucky you :) I wish that one day I would get to meet him too.
I'm sure it will Jojo87. Just 2 months ago I never would have believed that I would ever get the chance. I was two months away from meeting him and I was just going about my business like nothing was up. The idea came to me when I heard he was touring in Europe to go to Paris and get my "Lisey's Story" signed. It seemed like a crazy idea, taking the flight from London just for one day without even being sure I would get the chance to actually see him. And believe me I took a wild chance because I expected a turnout but I didn't expect 3000 people ! It was close but it happened and it was so rewarding. If you believe it can happen, it will :)

Amen

Jojo, thank you for creating this thread!

For me this year was rather difficult... But the last two weeks were just great, and I am grateful these things happened. On November, 28 I went to the concert of my favorite singer and I met her in person. That means the whole world to me! And on December, 2 and 3 I went to the theater performances that simply changed my life, gave me new ideas and inspiration. And again I was able to present flowers to my favorite actor there, and it was cool to see him so close, too. So, meeting these two people was the most important event of the year for me.

I know there have been many highlights of the year for me, but two are really standing out right now:
Traveling to Philadelphia with my dad to see the Rolling Stones (June 21), great show, great time, and getting an autographed S.K. book form my library (wait, was that '12 or '13? ;) )

Pretty much a standard year here. Nose to the grind, passed the sixteen year marker at my job. I'm a little more cranky than last year but I think that is your right as you get older. I'm shooting for "grouchy old bastard" status someday.....I like my years to be uneventful if possible, had enough crazy time in my early years to last a lifetime. My son is healthy, handsome, and thankfully, very smart like his mother, not a dolt like his old man. So I am very thankful for that.

I'd have to say the highlight of my year was being cured of my generalized anxiety disorder. I couldn't imagine that life could be lived without constant worry and tension. Now I see how much of my life's energy was stolen from me, wasted on useless worry, and I'm trying to make up for lost time. I feel like I've been reborn.
Wonderful! that is crippling - I've done a round or two with it, not sure I could handle a lifetime of it!

....haven't heard from him in a month-so the personal drama drags on and Mama and I are getting more than angry and upset....Nate was a Klingon at the KingKon, but with a little Static Guard, I took care of the problem...and yep, Tracy deserves a medal for tolerating my nonsense lo these many years...she is MY national treasure...
I'm a bit late - sorry to hear about your drama - damn kids - hopefully it's all settled by now. 20 years of marriage makes you thick as thieves - may you enjoy at least 40 more!

A lot of good things have happened to me this year, my husband has got a new job, my eldest son Carl passed his driving test first time, bought his first car, had an interview for a top university my younger son Mark has just had his Mock exam results hand they were amazing 6 A*s, 4 As and a distinction and I passed my final course which could lead me to do a Phd. Just hope all this amazing luck continues next year so my two boys can fulfill their potential.

Well, the biggest highlight of my year was the continued good health of all of our family members; that's something I never take for granted. Besides that, I met our governor, Jerry Brown, and his wife one evening while out walking my dog. I attended a great jazz concert last summer, the album from which-- Summer Horns-- has been nominated for the best pop instrumental grammy. I heard a talk by Al Gore on the environment and global warming. Contrary to popular opinion, he's NOT boring! He's smart and funny and very compassionate. I taught myself to crochet and made three scarves and a hat that I'm not even embarrassed to wear in public. :smug:

...thanks honey, so much...and I'm getting more and more keyed up as the "day of drama" approaches...I just know if it doesn't go well, it will cast a pall over our holiday-and I'm dreading it...

It's been a crazy year! I guess my big highlight going a Stephen King Book tour event. Of course, some other great family things was my son turned out OK after his throat procedure, I got my chest tests back OK. My husband is embarking on his new career and I got a promotion in mine. Finally seeing my youngest son play hockey, because he's just so darn cute on the ice!
