Sisters of eluria from everything's eventual is a prequel. Have you read that? And there is one from hearts in Atlantis that is connected.

I have read the Hearts in Atlantis - I was stoked to see Ted Brautigan in DT7! Was hoping he'd make an appearance. I haven't read Sisters of Eluria - I think it's the only short story collection of SK's that I don't own!
Must be time for a trip to the bookshop... any excuse

Finally! All I can say is wow. What a journey - and after reading the end I gave myself a day or two to process the initial shock (and bittersweet heartbreak!) and I think there really couldn't have been any other ending than that one....... miss the ka-tet already!
What next????
...that is so very well-stated...

King gave us the perfect ending! I, along with a few folken here on the SKMB, were abit upset the way it ended, but after thinking about it for a while (like you), I came to the same conclusion- there couldn't have been a different ending- not one that would work properly anyway. King left it up to us in the end.

Looks like most of the direct tie-in novels have already been referenced, but others who feature characters you will recognize are Salem's Lot and The Stand. If you haven't read "IT", you will also pick up some references that were made on Odd Lane.

Just finish about two weeks ago re reading this series.
Still belive its his best work., especially since it seems ALL his works somehow lead to the Dark tower.
Lov his appearance in the series.
I always look for the King character in his stories and I feel he wants to be like Roland but is more like Eddie

This^ is interesting.

One of the things I enjoyed most about the story was the process of the amalgamation of the ka-tet. I was talking to someone once about how I didn't like the way Roland simply turns his friends into pale reflections of himself, and it was pointed out to me that that was only half of what was going on.

Sooner or later I'm going to have to read this thing again.
