If I'm correct, that was sarcasm xD I started to think about it and I can either make sure the people (kids there, not the school) that destroy the property/portable magic return it... that, or I could use telekinesis at the dance and... well... I'll have to think about it.
If your classmates are doing the destroying then that is bullying and it needs to stop. Talk to a teacher about it and see what they can/will do.

OK, finally scored on some books! Found an unread beautiful hardback 1st printing of Prime Evil, which has King's Night Flyer story in it, along with lots of other gems from some important authors in the field of horror. Also found a real nice hardback of Fannie Flagg's Can't Wait To Get To Heaven and a nice hardback of Prey by Michael Crichton! Paid $1.99 for each of them! SCORE!
I love Fannie Flagg too!!! Daisy Fay and the Miracle Man made me laugh so much. I always pick it up again when I need something funny to read. Nice score (esp the Prime Evil)!

I have 40 Stephen King books on my bookshelf and 32 of them are from used book stores or passed on to me by other people! I think the only ones I've saved up to buy brand new were the Dark Tower books (need I explain)? ;)
This isn't because I am trying to scam the system... just can't afford all the books I'd like!

You're way ahead of me, but I love finding them second hand, and I am astonished at what great shape they're in that way. I suspect, if someone really likes Stephen King, they hold on to them, so when you find one like that it was probably a gift someone didn't want. Who gives away a perfect beautiful hardcover Stephen King book? No one on this board would, I bet.

I know - I found many first edition hardcover books at Value Village up here. They also have a deal there where if you buy four, you get the 5th one free!

I like to sit and count all of my preciousessssssssss!!!! :biggrin-new: I don't think there's really anything tangable in my life that gives me more pleasure than my book collection. I'm taking them all with me when I go to the clearing at the end of the path, too, so don't anyone even ask me for them, ya hear!

I feel that way about mine too. I find my collection to be my most enjoyable possessions and I enjoy finding them. The used bookstore is like my treasure hunts.

Sorry, darlin', I am going to have a funeral pyre made of my books and have my body laid on top of it.......of course I'll be dead so how am I going to know if my very last wishes are carried out, hmmmm? No, I could never, ever do that to my books! I don't know what I will do with them- I certainly would want them to go to someone who would appreciate and cherish them as I have over the years since I started collecting them. (Oh, Lawd, I can see ya'll lining up right now- pick me! pick me! pick me!) Who knows, maybe somewhere down the road I may fall into hard financial times and have to sell them off piece by piece to have some money for food- you never know what the future has in store for us, right?

I havent found a Stephen King book from any of of my local charity shops for months now , got Time Travellers Wife for 25p today though, not really my cup of tea but i had to buy something.
I understand - I bought a fictional account of the life of Saint Paul a couple of weeks ago. I was just dumbfounded that I couldn't find anything King. It's a sickness. When I can't find King I try to find Judy Blume.

So are they arranged in chronological or alphabetical order?

Hi! Goodwill does have pretty good books laying around but I really like going to Half Price Bookstore. I had been going their since I was 11 and found great bargains! That's even where I got my first Stephen King book! Haven't had much money lately but when I did make some purchases I bought Riding in Cars With Boys by Beverly Donofrio and 3 comics. I bought a Pokemon one and Supergirl, Aunt May and Franklin Richards vs. Galactus, and Avengers against the Atlantic Invasion Forces. My boyfriend got Ms. Marvel. 2 others I forgot which ones but he kept the cooler ones because he paid actually.
