this happens to me a lot - doesn't matter if its at home or work. Is this a problem on my end? I would think it's big brother anywhere else, but here and at home I AM big brother. I try not to take it personally :). It's weird though - I'll be in the middle of a post, and then I'll get the "you must be logged in to do that" note. And I'll see the members online and it shows me there, but then I'm not really there, and then I can't log back on. Maybe I'm here too much.

No I don't do that, maybe I should? I guess I thought that meant "stay logged on forever". I couldn't commit.

As long as you log out instead of just closing the browser window, it should log you out. :) I had forgotten to do it this morning and when I came back after a long conference call, discovered I'd been logged out and had to sign in again. My guess is that is what the problem is but if you still have it happen after selecting that option, let us know what OS and browser (including version) you're using as that will help troubleshoot what may be going on.

It's been happening to me also for the last two days. Yes, the 'Stay Logged In' button is check off, so I know it's not that. Once I tried six times to log in after getting booted and it still wouldn't let me sign in. I took it personally and drank a bottle of Fireball, beat my cats and swung them around by their tails (strangely they liked that!) and then drove my car the wrong way on the freeway with ten state troppers chasing me, all the while screaming out the window 'Ya gotta catch me first, dumb*sses!' Ok, well maybe that last part didn't happen, but I did try to log in six times then gave up.

Without checking the "stay logged in" box, your account will be automatically be logged out after a period of inactivity (I think it's 30 minutes, but I'd have to look it up).
Windows Vista, IE 9. (getting awful personal, ain't cha Marsha? :biggrin-new:)
What error(s) did you receive, and were you at www[dot]stephenking[dot]com or stephenking[dot]com? Additionally, did Internet Exploder pop up any warnings about the site or have you installed any new security software?

Just the sudden message that "you have to be logged on" and then seeing that per the board I was logged in, but my screen saying I'm not. I'm going to try the stay logged in thing and see if that works.
