The 50th was MIND BLOWING! I love it.
Knowing that the 4th is now the curator, I LOVE the scarf the girl is wearing. It's not LIKE the 4ths scarf, it's the SAME scarf. He gave it to her. Probably knowing that it would get her out of a pickle one day.

I liked it--in fact, I can hear it from the other room right now, as the kids are watching it AGAIN :) I ended up just buying the episode on Vudu so we could watch it on Friday (and whenever we like). They handled most things well, though Tennant was pretty much just annoying. Trying to decide if I like the rewrite of Gallifrey's history, though it isn't exactly a rewrite (remember the epi with Timothy Dalton as a High Elder guy? The idea of Gallifrey being in a pocket universe was introduced there first). What did you think, AnnaMarie?

I thoroughly enjoyed it. I had a group of kids here, and I made a table of Whovian food.

I really wish Eccleston was there. Apparently he was offered a part, but turned it down after reading it. I'm guessing it was just a short scene with the regeneration...and IMO he deserves a lot more then that.

And, with the "rewrite" I'm not sure Eccleston's doctor would have been quite so dark. When was Dalton a high elder? (Which doctor?). I'm rewatching from nine on...currently where Tennant is turning into Matt.

I want a machine that goes BING ::P

I agree, Adventure in time and space was great....yet disappointing. I had heard some things about Hartnell, which were not confirmed by the movie. I much prefer what I thought to what they said. I was so sad when they decided to regenerate to Troughton. (Then again, if it's like an American movie, very little is based on reality anyway.)

Did you see the latest thing about Eccleston? What I read was that last March he said he'd be glad to be on it, but he wanted a particular director, Joe Ahern, because he did such a stellar job on the episodes he'd directed before. Moffat wouldn't go for it. Whatever. He's still my favorite Doctor :)

Hadn't heard that. But, I'm leery of believing to much. When he originally left, either someone was not honest in what they said, or they released information that was supposed to be kept quiet for a while. I really think he was treated badly. (That's just my own opinion.

Does anyone else agree with my thesis that "A Dr.Who episode written by Stephen King would be bloody amazing" ?

He could write a really scary episode, and there hasn't been a remotely scary episode since probably "Night Terrors" or "The God Complex".
Obviously he would have to tone down pretty much everything, but it could be really, really awesome.

P.S- Speaking of "The God Complex" there is so much of The Shining in that.
