Well I was not impessed by it. The original was way better.I would not buy it again. I mean it was ok in fairness but again re-make.How was it? I'm going to try and get it at Redbox this weekend!
Oh wow - I really thought with Julianne Moore it would be pretty good! Really, in many ways, even with new graphic technology, you just can't beat the original version of so many movies. I can see Carrie being one of those.Well I was not impessed by it. The original was way better.I would not buy it again. I mean it was ok in fairness but again re-make.
I am sure you will love it! Happy reading jojoI went to our supermarket on Wednesday and found the translated version of Dr Sleep and I couldn't leave the store before I had bought it
so now it is in my bookcase.

Have you seen Picnic at Hanging Rock? It's an older film directed by Peter Weir (?) and it has some real spooky moments in it. It's more of a psychological scary rather than any thing jumping out at you.I haven't seen the new one yet, but my thoughts on new graphics technology such as CGI, computer generated ghosts and the like tend to sometimes be overdone. <=) Sometimes less is more.
One of the reason I prefer older horror is they use atmosphere, i.e. an old abandoned, dilapidated Victorian house living room with cobwebs and an old piano with a couple keys missin', all shot in an antiqued/aged black and white lighting/film. Then one of the keys on the piano pushes down once, then stops, 'The Changeling' spoiler >>Now that is spooky stuff man! I just love a good spooky movie that uses a good atmosphere and those are rare these days as far as I know.like in 'The Changeling'. Or like when the ball bounced down the stairs or an old dusty freakin' wheelchair comes chasing you down the hall!?
I think CGI can be awesome when used in moderation. There were some pretty cool effects in 'A Haunting in Connecticut 2' ... but ... overdone. Pretty good movie though and had a good story, good acting.
Sorry I got off topic *blushes* <=)
I am still reading Doctor Sleep, haven't made it that far yet. Interesting so far though!
