Is Mary Lambert the wife? erhg. I wanted to say her lines for her.
Upset me. c'mon ... choke the words out.. Turn around slowly again- stiff neck sad eyes, and I'm gonna have to turn this off.

I did not mind the truck scene too much. What got me in the book and the movie was

Little Gage falling out of the coffin after the fight. Horribles.
Mary Lambert is the director. Denise Crosby played Rachel. The only scene I think she deserves credit for is the one where she is telling Louis about her sister Zelda.
Lol, you really aren't a fan of her acting, either, are you? I still like to watch for the Timmy Baterman scenes and the Jud scenes. Plus, the Maine countryside is beautiful on a big screen SmartTV.
Yeah, the funeral scene in the book and movie are emotionally draining. So sad to attend a baby's funeral...especially one that ends like that one. I don't blame Louis for hitting an old man, though, do you?.

No, and he wasn't that old. Old enough to know bettah.

Oops. That was the director, you say?. say sorry. I did not know.

Nah, I did not even like the Zelda scene. She just irked me from the get go.

I dont mind a remake, as long as its scary, the movie was more...sad..

I get what you're saying here, but for a lot of people, "sad" is scary.

And the whole idea of Pet Sematary .... this notion that you must make a home for the things you conjure ... It's the scariest thing of all ... mostly because most people (in the real world) don't really believe it.

What you buy ... you own.

It's yours.

It's coming home.

Yes.

  • Yes, indeed ... it is.

I just saw on Facebook that on Thursday Paramount announced Pet Sematary remake will hit theaters April of 2019. I've never heard of the directors. I will try to share the link if no one else has. Thoughts?

The directors of Starry Eyes (2014), Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer are set to remake it, with a screenplay by Matthew Greenberg who wrote 1408.

Starry Eyes was boring for me but I look forward to seeing this adaptation.

As I said, they did one film which really bored me and I fast-forwarded through most of it. That'snot a condemnation of their artistic ability though, because hey, Andy Muschietti only had one film to his credit when he got IT and look how well that turned out. I hope they make a great film for us SK & horror fans.

If the trailer doesn't include an epic trailer version of the Ramones song I riot.
Also, is this a "remake" or a new adaptation like IT was?

I doubt they'll use the Ramones song, they will want their film to be different. Even with the Carrie remake which was very based on the De Palma film they didn't re-use the original music.
Maybe in the trailer. Or maybe they'd use a cover. The song is so good I doubt they wouldn't at least mention it.

I first saw this movie when I was 5 in 1987 or 88, I believe.. My Mom rented it from the local video store since she was/is a huge SK fan. Never since have I been more scared watching a movie. Any scene that involved a resurrected animal, the truck/Gage scene, Zelda (RAAAAACHEEEL), Never get out of bed again!!!!, were particularly scarring.

Now that I'm a new Dad for the first time to a 9 month old baby boy, the truck scene is even harder to watch as it hits (pun unintended) very close to home.

With all that said, I still can't wait for the remake. If it resembles the same type of film making that the IT remake had then it should be pretty great.
