While we are defining parameters, I would like to point out that if any of you see me on the street, you are welcome to make eye contact and speak to me. If I am in the restroom, a nod of the head will be fine. If I am sitting on the loo, please do not make eye contact or speak to me. If I am ever eating dinner in public, please look away and if you should catch me derobed, please don't laugh. Cept you Sunny, you know what to do.

I was on a doc film crew about Comedy and the Jews in 2001--We interviewed a couple of up and coming--Lewis Black, Marc Maron, in NYC. Then we went to Martha's Vineyard and got an interview with Alan Dershawitz (very funny guy) he was late coming to the interview because he was at Mike Wallace's house with Larry David and they were all talking about our doc. Larry David didn't interview but we got an invite to the CBS building to Mr. Wallace's 60 minute office (very small). He gave a great interview and he even said hi to my dad by name --very gracious man. My dad, in the late stages of parkinson's loved it...he kept a picture of me standing between Mike Wallace and Morley Safer right next to his chair. --As for meeting Mr. King, I'll just wait till we get to that big writers meeting in the sky.

The very few first-person looks I've had with famous people (Bob Crane, MC Hammer), they were busy otherwise (loading into car at the airport, eating at a restaurant), and I didn't even think of bothering them during private time.

Went to a seminar once put on by a writer of some books on language. Very entertaining. After the seminar, I went up, joined the line, and gave him an oxymoron that he hadn't mentioned. He loved it (and, according to reports, used it at his next seminar). I told him I was struggling with a writing piece. He said to meet him in the lobby in a couple hours, and we did, and we just chatted one-on-one for a while. Charming guy. I don't remember his advice, but it was enervating. I started plugging away again.

So, sure, Mr. King is safe from me. Unless I'm at a seminar where he's presenting.
