Mr. King: Just saw the last episode of the 11-22-63 miniseries and thought it was done fantastic! Sure there was parts left out, but the main story was followed to a tee. There was a point at the end of the movie where Jake asked Sadie "Could I have this dance", that brought me to tears in the book and the movie. This story was not only a book about what if, but was a love story that transcends time. Mr. King, your best book ever! Many times I thought about what if, going back in time, stopping the JFK assassination, and you gave another possibility about what could have been. Be careful what you wish for. You, sir, are a genius for all your books that you've written, but this book you should be very proud. It was a time when we all lost our way and you showed us another perspective. Maybe things DID work out for the best.

It is a beautiful love story - I prefer the book of course but the TV series was very well done as well.

I've just finished watching the DVD of this mini series, it was enjoyable, especially the last episode but the book was much better in my opinion.
The movie just all seemed a little rushed compared with the novel where the slower, simpler way of life from the 1960s was one of the highlights for me.
I thought the actors playing George/Jake and Sadie were very good and were in keeping with the feel of the book.
In fact its made me want to read the book again which will be my 4th or 5th read of it.

I finally saw this on dvd and I enjoyed it. I thought it started to go off the rails in episode 5 or 6 but it got back on track and I thought they did a good job with it. I thought the actor that played Bill was fantastic. As far as Bill's expanded role in the mini series,
many had a problem with it but I liked the character as someone for Jake to bounce his ideas off of. There had to be a character there for that to avoid a lot of voice over.

Undoubtedly, one of SK's best books. And I must say that the series was extremely well done. My wife and I enjoyed it tremendously. I can truly say that as one who remembers where I was on the terrible day that JFK was shot, I had a bit of a weird feeling when I first read the book. Merely seeing the book's title put wheels in motion I long thought buried far back in my mental "garage," and dragging them into the light again was at times more prickly than I remembered. I know that in this day and age, many of us feel jaded by the daily atrocities we see on TV or read about, but I pray that we never see anything like JFK (or Martin Luther King) again. Sadly, we do, but to "less important" people. In the cosmic scheme of things, who can say how "worth" is to be figured?

Started to Watch the Series but i hav not read the Book.
I really liked the Theoretical Physics Background
“The past is obdurate.”
Stephen Hawking verbalized it in „Chronology Protection Conjecture"

So, that could be a Reason, why you cant kill your Grandfather, after you traveld back in Time.
The Laws of Nature Protects themself.

It was well Depicted, in the first Episode, when the Car crashes into the Phone Booth.

Maybe i have to buy the Book

Welcome. One of my favorite books and film adaptations. I cried at the same point you did. I think it did work out the way it is supposed to.

Do yourself a favor and buy the book. Keep tissues handy.
