Surprisingly here (Netherlands) quite some attention is devoted to the fact he becomes 70 this year. There are always reprints of his novels from time to time (especially the most popular ones like It), but now they reprinted a HUGE amount all at once - it's not EVERY book from the back catalogue, but a big part of it. They all got new covers too (which basically they always get with every reprint here, they never use the same cover twice and they are either totally new or variations on the American covers).
A whole bookcase in a bookstore here in town was filled from top to bottom with these reprints and even some shelves more.
Also there is an action if you buy two out of six selected titles (The Dead Zone, The Long Walk, Lisey's Story, The Green Mile, Revival, Doctor Sleep), you get a third for free.
Of course we also get two long-awaited films, The Dark Tower and the It remake, this year which nicely fits in with his 70th birthday (plus Mr. Mercedes, Gerald's Game, Castle Rock and 1922 coming up), but is something else special done in the US or other countries?
